Types of Food

Have you ever thought that how do we live without food? Food is one of the most important physical parts in our life. As we all know, human survival depends on food because it contains the huge amount of nutritions. With the trend of technology and science development today, people has not discovered something else to support nutrition for living things that can replace food until now. Food comes from various sources. It is classified according to their nutritional benefits.

The first group of food is carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are substances that consist of carbon, hydrogen, and oxigen. They are important to produce energy in the body which support energy for all activities of human and animal. For example, all external activities such as talking, walking, swimming and internal activities such as thinking, breathing are maintained by carbohydrate. Where there is a lack of energy, we might think of carbohydrate. Sugars and starches are the sources of carbohydrate. There are many food which contain carbohydrate such as honey, chocolate, rice, corn and kinds of bean. If we eat them regularly, we will have enough energy for daily activities. For athletes, they have special regimens that contain a lot of calories for practicing system. Thus, carbohydrates play a essential role to provide energy for life.

The second group of food giving a lot of good effect on our health is vitamins. Vitamins are substances that are required in the diet for health and wellbeing such as vitamin A,B,C,D,E,K. The food contain vitamins are essential to increase the operating ability of immune system. They have a lot of healthy benefits. According to kinds of vitamin, they will provide us for different good health effects. For instance, vitamin C helps us against all diseases effectively. Vitamin A keeps our eyes healthy. Vitamin also makes our body fresh, so they are very useful for the recovering of patients. Vitamin occurs in variety of food such as fruit and vegetable. Especially, fruit is one of the most popular sources of vitamins. Fruit is also a good and effective tool to keep the beauty because it has anti-oxidant. Vitamin C has much in orange, tomato, some types of green vegetable, and red and yellow color foods… vitamin E has a lot in sunflower and safflower oils, peanut butter, dark leafly greens, almonds, berry, green and red peppers… Eating fruit and vegetable is necessary to our health, but people seem to ignore them. A recent study conducted a survey of 1800 school-age children to find out what they eat in a day. The result showed that 15 percent of student did not eat any vegetable, 20 percent of them did not consume any fruit. Thus, food contains vitamin help us have a longer life.

The final group is foods contain protein. Protein is the important substance that provides nutrition for our surival. Lack of protein can cause growth failure, loss of muscle mass, decreased immunity, weakening of the heart and respiratory system, and death. Moreover, protein also builds up, maintains, and replaces the tissues in our body. Protein comes from two main sources are animal and vegetable. Animal and vegetable protein have the same effects on our health. Some foods contain vegetable protein are beans, nuts, and whole grains. Fish and poultry are sources of animal protein such as pork, beef, lamb, fish, eggs, dairy products, chicken… Protein plays an important role in every our daily meal. We can use milk for breakfast or use fish and pork for lunch and dinner. Thus, if you want to be healthy, you should pay intention to eat what food contains much protein.

In conclusion, food contains nutritional benefits includes groups food contain carbohydrate and vitamin and protein. All of them are necessary because of their effects on our health and even survival. Nothing can replace food in our life. Let us choose the best food to have a good health.
